DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Minnesota... Minnesota River at Morton affecting Redwood and Renville Counties. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Minnesota... Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Yellow Medicine, Lac qui Parle and Chippewa Counties. .Higher than normal flows will continue along the Minnesota River this week with another round of rain on the way. Overall mostly action stage along the river with Morton and Montevideo forecast to or observed just above minor flood stage. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Minnesota River at Montevideo. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Low lying areas and some roads along the river begin flooding, along with some basements of houses along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1100 AM CDT Tuesday, the stage was 15.1 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1100 AM CDT Tuesday was 15.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady above flood stage at 15.0 feet. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.1 feet on 04/08/2006.

INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Cirrocumulus Clouds Next Topic: Cirrostratus Clouds

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km) and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as "cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.

Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud formations generally pass rapidly.
